Delray Beach, FL – [Saturday, July 22nd 2023] – Back to School PBC!, the all-encompassing back-to-school event held on Saturday, July 22nd, at multiple sites throughout Palm Beach County. Through the collaboration of the Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization, Children’s Services Council, Palm Beach County Sheriff and Spirit of Giving along with major sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and donors over 11,300 students received need supplies.
Back to School PBC was more than just a school supplies drive; it was a collaborative effort to empower students and equip them with the tools they need to succeed. Throughout the event, students and their families had access to grade-appropriate supplies, physicals, hygiene supplies, socks, shoes, community resources, feminine hygiene kits and so much more.
The heartwarming show of support from the community was evident, with over 580 volunteers dedicating their time and effort to make the event a success. Together, they contributed over 2,000 volunteer hours, showcasing the power of unity and compassion in making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Thanks to the generous donation of 10,000 pairs of socks from Bombas, students were not only well-prepared for their studies but also provided with warmth and comfort for the upcoming school year. The impact of this gift reached far beyond the event, demonstrating the lasting impact of partnerships in the community.
In addition to the physical supplies, Back to School PBC focused on promoting academic excellence and personal safety. The distribution of 2,500 BarChart study guides and 625 personal safety books ensured that students had the resources to excel academically and stay safe, fostering a nurturing learning environment.
