Saks Fifth Avenue Partners with Spirit of Giving by Donating Hundreds of Cosmetic Bags and Makeup Samples

Spirit of Giving’s Feminine Hygiene Kits will be a fashionable and discreet thanks to Saks Fifth Avenue

Boca Raton, FL – Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton has donated hundreds of cosmetics bags and make up samples to support Spirit of Giving’s Back to School PBC! These donated items will be used to make feminine hygiene kits for young ladies in Palm Beach County.

For the past fourteen years, Spirit of Giving (SOG) has planned and executed a community-wide event called the Back to School Bash (now known as Back to School PBC!). This all-encompassing event supports underserved Palm Beach County Students with all things needed to go back to school. Each student receives a new backpack with all the grade-appropriate supplies, haircut, physical, shoes, socks, deodorant, and much more. Spirit of Giving wanted to add something special to Back to School PBC! and after reaching out to nonprofit partners, SOG realized feminine hygiene supplies are much needed; not just the supplies but an inconspicuous way to carry them.

That is where Saks Fifth Avenue went above and beyond. These new cosmetic bags ensure that young ladies not only have a discreet bag but also a cute and fashionable one. The bags will also include a couple of makeup samples such as lip-gloss and face moisturizer. Lindy Harvey Executive Director of Spirit of Giving said “After reaching out to our nonprofit partners we realized the need for feminine hygiene items was huge. Students also stated that it was awkward to ask a teacher for a tampon/pad. We are confident the cosmetic bags donated by Saks Fifth Avenue will increase the self-confidence of these young ladies and keep things subtle.”

This partnership is adding to the list of amazing collaborations Spirit of Giving is creating with for-profit companies. “We are excited to partner with Spirit of Giving on this initiative. It is important that Saks Fifth Avenue is involved and supports our local community. Thank you to Spirit of Giving for allowing us to be a part of Back to School PBC! and help so many young ladies” said Heather Shaw Vice President, General Manager of Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton.

Organizations who participate in Back to School PBC! and benefit from these feminine kits include American Association of Caregiving Youth, Best Foot Forward, Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County, Friends of Foster Children, George Snow Scholarship Fund, HomeSafe, Milagro Center, Roots and Wings, SOS Children’s Villages, and many more! This year’s Back to School PBC! will take place on Saturday July 24th as a drive through event.
