Give holiday gifts kids in need really want

NOVEMBER 11, 2020

You know the holidays are coming up when Spirit of Giving launches the 19th annual Holiday Gift Drive.

“Our gift drive ensures that over 6,000 disadvantaged children in our community will receive a holiday wish this season.  With COVID-19 and the economy, the need is even greater this year,” said executive director Lindy Harvey.

Gifts are not picked at random. “By using our virtual gift tag link, you will be able to know the child’s name, age, gender and the gift wish they picked out for this holiday season,” she said.

The wish lists on their website are linked to registries on Amazon, Target and Walmart. https://spiritofgivingnetwork.com/what-we-do/holiday-gift-drive/

Once donors click on the gift wish tags, they can also drop gifts off in two locations in Boca Raton: Spirit of Giving office, Atrium Financial Center, 1515 N. Federal Highway, suite 106, north of Glades Road. Junior League of Boca Raton, 261 NW 13th St., just off Glades Road.

All gifts and donations must be received by Dec. 4 to give Spirit of Giving enough time to distribute to 50 local children’s charities. They’re also looking for volunteers in small groups with safety protocols in place to help sort gifts in advance of pickup by the charities. Harvey can be reached at  561-385-0144 or this email:  Lindy@spiritofgivingnetwork.com

“We are encouraging our business community, condominiums, HOAs, schools, colleges, and church and synagogue groups to partner with us to help us fulfill this need,” Harvey said. “We want these children to have some joy and normalcy during this holiday season.”
