The 2020 Back to School PBC! was an event like no other! Due to the global pandemic and a hurricane Spirit of Giving had to adapt to ensure that over 4,000 underserved children received much needed school supplies.
What was originally planned as a drive through event was quickly changed to a pick up event. Spirit of Giving in collaboration with four other agencies planned and executed Back to School PBC! at Village Academy in Delray Beach. 60+ nonprofit agencies signed up over 4,400 students to receive a backpack filled with school supplies, parent resources kits, meals and more!
Over 120+ volunteers followed strict COVID-19 guidelines to pre-pack thousands of backpacks and our member nonprofits picked them up to distribute to the children they serve.
Items in each backpack: Pencils, Erasers, Notebooks, Crayons, Markers, Composition Books, Binders, Rulers, Headphones, Calculators, Socks, Masks, Hand Sanitizer, and more!
Prior to the event, Spirit of Giving partnered with In Jacobs Shoes to purchase and distribute 3,000 pairs of shoes. i Support the Girls and GIVT donated thousands of New and Gently used Bras and Feminine Hygiene products for all of the young ladies.

Sponsor a Child – $50 provides a backpack full of grade appropriate supplies, shoes, and a uniform shirt for a deserving child
Collect Supplies – We are in need of Shoes (all sizes), Deodorant, and Feminine Hygiene products.
